Terms & Media Processing Policy
1. Order approval and payment
Submitting an order request does not guarantee acceptance. Orders are reviewed before payment. If an order is approved, a payment link is provided. Do not send media until payment is complete and the receiving address and shipping instructions have been provided.
2. Authority to submit media and files
You must be legally authorized to possess, copy, convert, rename, format, test, or otherwise process all media and files you submit. Do not submit material that you are not authorized to copy or possess. Service may be refused if fulfilling the order could violate law, third-party rights, or a safety/security requirement.
3. Backups and risk of data loss
You are responsible for keeping a separate backup of anything important before sending media or files. Media processing can result in data loss, corruption, overwriting, reformatting, or device failure, including when a device was already weak or failing.
- Formatting erases or replaces filesystem information and may make existing data inaccessible.
- Full read/write and capacity testing writes data to the device and may overwrite existing contents.
- Duplication may overwrite destination media as required to complete the requested job.
- File conversion and bulk renaming may create replacement or modified files.
Unless the order specifically requires preserving existing data, assume destination media may be overwritten.
4. Existing-data media
Existing-data media is accepted for approved jobs. Clearly identify any source device that must be read from rather than overwritten. Additional notes, labels, colors, volume names, or other clear markings may be used to identify source media.
This service is not data recovery. A device that cannot be read reliably may be rejected or returned without processing.
5. Inspection, refusal, and unsafe media
Media and shipments may be inspected before processing. An order or individual device may be refused, isolated, or returned if it is damaged, modified, mislabeled, unreadable, suspicious, appears unsafe, is suspected of containing malware, or presents an electrical, physical, security, or operational risk.
Refused media may be returned without processing. Return shipping charges may still apply.
6. Malware and security
No guarantee is made that submitted media or files are free of malware. The service does not include malware removal, malware remediation, forensic analysis, or a guarantee that malicious content will be detected. Suspicious media may be rejected without being connected to processing equipment.
7. Testing and verification
Media testing includes recognition/function checks and, where requested or included in the service, full read/write and capacity testing. Passing a test means the device completed the test performed at that time; it is not a guarantee of future lifespan, reliability, compatibility with every device, or freedom from later failure.
Checksum or hash verification confirms that compared data matched according to the verification method used. It does not guarantee that the source files themselves are correct, safe, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose.
8. Customer instructions
Work is performed according to the information submitted with the order and any later written instructions accepted for that order. If instructions are unclear or conflict with the physical media, processing may be paused or the order may be returned for clarification.
9. Turnaround
Any turnaround estimate is an estimate, not a guaranteed completion date. Quantity, total data size, device speed, failing media, verification requirements, shipping delays, or other operational issues may affect completion time.
10. Shipping
You are responsible for securely packaging media and for inbound shipping unless otherwise agreed. Tracking is strongly recommended. Risk associated with a shipping carrier is outside the direct control of the processing service.
Return shipping is charged or arranged as stated for the order. The return address you provide must be accurate. Tracking information will be provided when available.
11. Cancellation and refunds
If you need to cancel, contact us as soon as possible. Once processing has begun, a full refund may not be available. Any refund may be reduced by work already completed and nonrecoverable shipping or third-party costs. If an order is rejected before processing, any applicable refund will be handled according to the circumstances of that order.
12. Limitation of responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is not responsible for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost business, or the value of lost data. For direct physical loss or damage caused while media is in our possession, any responsibility is limited to the service fees paid for the affected order plus the reasonable replacement cost of the affected physical media, excluding the value of data or other contents.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Changes to these terms
The version in effect when you submit the order applies to that order unless both sides agree otherwise in writing.
14. Contact
For a question before ordering, submit an order request through the site and put the question or special requirement in the Additional notes field. Submitting a request does not charge you and you should not ship anything until the order is approved and paid. For an existing order, reply to the email used for that order's correspondence.
